Also surviving are several aunts and uncles dear nieces and nephews, LeAnn and Ern Moot, Dustin, Danielle and Dana Smith, Zach and Beau Burke, Ashley Hoose, Rick Rossi, AJ and Seth Vargas, Zac Pearo, and his namesake “Little Raye” Lagoy as well as many cousins and special friends. Surviving are his fiancee, Tina Potter of Munnsville a son, Tanner Smith, at home a daughter, Cadence Smith, at home his parents, Ross and Mary Smith of Munnsville a brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Deborah Smith of Munnsville a sister, Deborah Moot and her companion, Mark Lynch, and a sister and brother-in-law, Joann and Eric Burke, all of Munnsville a brother-in-law, Ernest Moot of Oneida Tina’s parents, John Potter of Canastota and Judi Potter of Verona her sisters, Christy Pearo and her companion, Dean Stoker of Rome, and Teri and Angel Vargas of Oneida. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hunting, trapping, racing 4-wheelers, working on the family farm, and cutting wood. He had been a member of the FFA while in high school and also played soccer in high school and after high school. Ray was a member of the American Motocross Association and the Central New York Motocross Racing Association. Prior to that he worked for Frank Fera of Oneida, on the Paul O’Mara Farm in Canastota, the Oneida Indian Nation, and J.B.S. He was currently employed by the Madison County Highway Department in Wampsville. Ray lived in the Munnsville area all his life and was a 1994 graduate of Stockbridge Valley High School.
